Atlanta Health Care & Music Festival August 5th – 6th

Get ready for the 11th Annual Atlanta Health Care & Music Festival August 5, 2016 & August 6, 2016 at the beautiful Sheraton Atlanta Hotel located at 165 Courtland Street, Atlanta, Georgia.

The 11th Annual Atlanta Health Care & Music festival is fun for the entire family and offers a wide variety of programs from morning till evening with closing concerts each night. Get ready for amazing concerts from some of your favorite R&B, Inspirational, Jazz & Gospel Artist with workshops and seminars presented by top agencies with a wealth of networking opportunities. Our guest for this year’s festival includes top retired NBA sports honorees: Daryl Ellis president of the Retired NBA Association, Lavon Mercer, Reginald Johnson and a host of other legendary guest. Our youth Summit is sponsored in association with the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Georgia, Gangbreaker Organization and Partnerships for Healthy Mouths, Healthy Lives and a host of other agencies.

Again this year is our one of a kind health and wellness pavilion sponsored by Fulton Dekalb Hospital Authority filled with a host of health care and wellness providers offering a variety of free services. Be sure to visit our dental suite and receive a free dental screenings and dental kit, (provided by Partnerships for Healthy Mouths and Healthy Lives. There will be blood pressure screenings, diabetes and cholesterol screenings as well. Attendees will receive wellness supplies, glucose meters, free dental kits, back to school supplies and swag bags to take home and have a happy healthy day. Our Financial Education is sponsored by Fifth Third Bank attendees will leave encouraged and excited to live healthier with a renewed focus on life .

Highlights include: a Friday Night ribbon cutting followed by Grown & Sexy Kickoff party and concert, a special Back to School Teen Dance (presented by Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Georgia) for youth in attendance, followed by Saturday morning and afternoon workshops and seminars. There will be a special choir & mime symposium and midday empowerment luncheon entitled “Don’t Quit Heal The World” special address from honorary guests: Darnisha Harrison the first African American women in the world to be the Founder, President & CEO of a biopharmaceutical company, Ennaid Therapuetics responsible for guiding the strategic direction and growth of a national recognized pharmaceutical and Derreck Kayaongo the Chief Executive Officer of the Center for Civil and Human Rights and founder of the Global Soap Project, a program which takes partially used soap from hotels, recycles them into new bars of soap, and redistributes the new bars to vulnerable populations around the world both speakers will receive awards.

Lastly the festival closes with a signature red carpet “Night of Excellence” Black Tie Awards Gala, Dinner & Concert, recognizing those in the community and across the country making a difference in the lives of others. Our mission is to empower our community, elevate the importance of health care & financial stability in today’s ever changing world of diversity.

This event is produced and facilitated by the Leading Women’s Repertory Theatre/ a nonprofit organization under the direction of Dr. RIKI BROOKS who is the CEO/Festival administrator for the past 10 years. Dr. Brooks has received numerous awards and commendations from the City of Atlanta, the State of Georgia and prides herself on bringing quality events into the city. Admissions to the general festival events are free, while some tickets will be sold for admission to the special workshops, concerts, black tie reception and awards banquet.
